Short answers to common questions.

Does Sentimentalmail send my emails anywhere?

No. Analysis runs on-device. There is no cloud processing and message content does not leave your machine.

Do I need an internet connection?

No. Sentimentalmail is designed to be offline-first and does not depend on external APIs or services.

Is this a separate inbox or a new email client?

No. Sentimentalmail integrates directly into Apple Mail and surfaces results inline while you read.

How do I enable the Mail extension?

Open Mail and choose Mail → Settings, open the Extensions tab, then tick Sentimentalmail. If Sentimentalmail is not listed, open the app once and return to Mail → Settings → Extensions.

Can I control what counts as “positive” or “negative”?

Yes. Sentimentalmail is designed to let you adjust thresholds so labels match your inbox (and your preferences).

Can I preview how Sentimentalmail scores a message?

Yes. Try out your sentiment thresholds with any text you provide, or use the built-in email generator to spin up realistic samples and see the results instantly.

Is the UI localized?

Do I need a ChatGPT, Claude, or other AI account?

Yes. Pick a marker style that fits how you triage: colour semantics or flag-style markers.

Can I limit scoring to specific senders?

Yes. Use sender filters to include or exclude addresses or domains.

Does Sentimentalmail show message trends?

Yes. It provides statistics and charts so you can review sentiment over time.

What does the score mean?

Scores are shown on a 1–100 scale, and you can adjust the thresholds for negative, neutral, and positive.
